My Story
Before becoming an orofacial myofunctional therapist, I spent years as a dental hygienist. But what truly led me here was my own story. I didn’t just discover this work, I lived it. For years, I struggled with my own oral myofunctional dysfunction and experienced firsthand how issues like mouth breathing, poor tongue posture, jaw tension, poor sleep, and pain that just didn’t seem to have answers, affected every part of life. That journey sparked a deep passion for helping others find answers. Once I discovered how life-changing oral myofunctional therapy could be, I knew I wanted to dedicate my work to helping others find the same relief and healing.
Now, I work with both children and adults to address orofacial myofunctional disorders. My therapy supports patients dealing with airway and sleep challenges, tongue posture and swallowing difficulties, oral-facial pain, teeth grinding, and TMJ discomfort. Restoring balance and harmony in how the mouth, tongue, and airway function together. Instead of just managing symptoms, my goal is to uncover the root cause and guide you toward lasting solutions that bring the whole body back into balance. So, you breathe easier, sleep better, and live with greater energy and comfort.
I don’t do this work alone. I’m part of a caring team of professionals that includes dentists, orthodontists, speech therapists, ENTs, chiropractors, and more, who collaborates to bring patients back to a place of natural, healthy function. Together, we look beyond symptoms to uncover what’s really driving dysfunction, so we can create long-term solutions rather than quick fixes.
With years of experience in pediatric dentistry, I have a special love for working with children. Early intervention is powerful. By correcting oral habits in childhood, we can often prevent bigger problems like TMJ pain and sleep apnea later in life. As a mom myself, I know how much peace of mind it brings to support your child’s health in the most natural way possible.
Orofacial myofunctional therapy offers a gentle, effective way to support better breathing, healthier sleep, and a lifetime of wellness. I’d love to walk alongside you on this journey.
My Approach
1. Assessment and Root Cause Analysis
I begin with a comprehensive evaluation. A 60-90 min appointment to identify where we can help and what dysfunction you have.
2. Individualized Treatment Plan
Based on the assessment, I create a custom program targeting specific muscle imbalances or habits.
3. Neuromuscular Re-education
I use the principles of muscle memory and neuroplasticity — teaching the body new, healthy patterns through repetition and awareness.
4. Collaboration with Other Professionals
As needed to provide patients with the best outcome I work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with: Dentists, Orthodontists, ENTs, Sleep Physicians, Physical Therapists, Chiropractors.
5. Integration and Maintenance
Helping the client maintain correct patterns.
